When life falls apart, many of us ask God where He has been. But the real question worth asking is where we have been. God is always present, a very present help in trouble, but we often grow too busy, too distracted, or too discouraged to recognize His work around us. Like Martha standing outside the tomb of her brother Lazarus, we can mistake a delay for an absence. God is not absent. He is working something out that is bigger than what we can currently see. Your delay is not punishment. It is not abandonment. It is by design. Meet the moment with faith, with praise, and with obedience, and you will find that He has been there all along.
