Most of us have no problem sharing our dreams with others, but bringing those plans to God first is a different story. Many people make major decisions and then pray about them afterward, essentially asking God to bless what they have already chosen. But God already has a plan for your life, and it is better than anything you could arrange on your own. Proverbs 16:9 reminds us that a person can plan their way, but the Lord directs their steps. The Israelites turned an eleven-day journey into forty years of wandering simply because they refused to trust God's direction. Even Jesus, in the Garden of Gethsemane, surrendered His will to the Father, and because He did, everything changed. Surrendering your plans to God is not passive or weak. It is one of the most courageous and freeing things you will ever do.
